I know sometimes it is very convenient to rip open pre-packaged spices, especially if you’re low on time. No judgment. But some of the ingredients in those ready-made packets have added chemicals that you don’t need or want on your tacos or in your body.

No need for sugar, MSG, or food coloring added to your tacos, right? So if you can make this recipe…make it!

It’s healthier for you and your family, and I’m all about health here.

Also…this is one of those cases where making it at home is not just healthier, but cheaper, too.

Those little packets at the store, besides being filled with chemicals, are sometimes $3 or more each. And if you don’t have some of the spices listed, you can leave them out or replace them in the recipe.

Don’t run to the store unless you have to! Who said you had to spend all kinds of money to eat better?

The perfect DIY taco seasoning

Making your own taco seasoning is super easy. In fact, as I said before, I bet you have all the spices in your cabinet right now.

Simply mix the spices together, then add it to ground beef, chicken, or turkey with about 3/4 cup of water. In minutes you will have a delicious filling ready for tacos, burritos, enchiladas or to the meat for taco salad.

You can even add the spices to sour cream or Greek yogurt and use it as a topping for one of your Mexican dishes.

Let’s get mixing!
