LIVE BLOG: Laois and Offaly clash in the quarter-finals of the Leinster Football Championship (2024)

Follow all the action as Justin McNulty's Laois side face off against Declan Kelly's Offaly team in a Leinster Football Championship quarter-final.

Both teams received a bye in the opening round of the championship with Offaly having had an extra week off as they weren't involved in the league finals. Laois will come into the contest full of confidence having pretty much waltzed through Division 4 of the Allianz Football League. Their only major blip was a loss to Leitrim, the same team they beat in the final, in Round 6 of the league in Laois Hire O'Moore Park.

Offaly will take solace at the fact that they kept their place in Division 3 having ended the campaign with two wins against Limerick and Wicklow, the two sides which got relegated from the division with a draw against Sligo sandwiched in between the Limerick and Wicklow games. They competed well against the other teams in the division and could have probably gained more points than what they did in the end.

Laois have an excellent record against Offaly in the championship and have not been beaten by their neighbours in the last five games. The sides met in the Tailteann Cup last year where a late scoring blitz from Offaly saw the game end level. Offaly's last victory over Laois in the championship came back in May 2002 in a Leinster quarter-final.SEE BLOG BELOW.
