How do I get the most out of my local library? ›

Library Director – Dave Schroeder

Dave Schroeder is a native of Kenton County. He was named Executive Director of the nationally ranked Kenton County Public Library in April 2007. Dave began his career at Kenton County Public Library in 1986 as a shelver.

You do not need a library card to visit the BPL, and you can request a guest pass at any service desk to use our computers on a temporary basis. If you want to borrow from our collections, you'll need to get a card.

At Library, books are supposed to talk to its reader. If you make noise at Library, it will be difficult to concentrate on that book you are reading. Sometimes, reading a book needs calm mind and space.

Sort your collection into three sections

Every reader has a different method on how to declutter books, but one of the most common is by sorting their books into three piles: books they've read, books they plan to read (also known as TBR), and books that they will honestly NEVER read.

Public libraries are run by the local government and funded by your tax dollars, bonds and grants.

How do I attract more people to my library? ›

This is not the Boston Public Library's debut into features — the building can be seen in a number of films, including Cameron Diaz's recent movie 'The Box,' as well as 'The Pink Panther 2,' while the Adam Sandler-producer 'The Zookeeper' set up shop recently in Copley Square.

Visitors are not allowed to eat or drink in indoor library spaces. Eating and drinking is allowed in the Courtyard of the Central Library in Copley Square.

Share student success stories

Where possible, highlight individual student achievements where the library played a key role. Maybe a student discovered a love of reading through a literacy program, or perhaps a group of students improved their research skills using the library's resources.
