So, in my latest YouTube video, I’m sharing an update and my real, unfiltered thoughts on what’s happening to our channels. My hope is to provide support to other YouTubers going through this right now, and to make positive changes for creators as a whole…although I’m a little more salty in this video than normal. Strike for a post on YouTube!👮♀️Yes, YouTube moderation has reached a new level and reached the “Community” tab.Now you can get a strike not only for videos, broadcasts, or shorts but also for publishing a message in this tab.✍️So be careful. I learned first hand, what others have been telling me, that having a Youtube channel is waste of time. After spent hours working on my new channel, uploading neat videos, developing playlists, and setting the premiere for such, I went to my channel and found out that most of my videos either showed up as unavailable in my playlists, or were not there. What a disappointment!Then I spent hours trying, with little to no help from Youtube, to find out what went wrong and correct it. Every video had been approved by Youtube, was high quality, played in Youtube's studio, and the box allowing embedding was marked. There was no reason these videos should be labeled as unavailable in my playlists and not show at all on my channel. Further, two videos that had previously appeared on my channel and in the designated playlist no longer did so. I checked to see if they still appeared in the Youtube Studio - they did and played with excellent quality.This has been a total waste of time! I should have listened to my friends, several of them have experienced similar problems while using Youtube, and used TikTok. But, I'm just not a TikTok fan! Thus, I will most likely erase my Youtube channel, and just focus on my website.

I have 2,5 million views on YouTube. And here’s a little funny story with some YouTube history and how those views eventually led us to this little teaser video.It was 2006, and I met this awesome person Ahmed Salama online, who had made this football meme video that was spreading like wildfire on IRC (Internet Relay Chat - Mother of #Slack, #Discord and such).He had his Hotmail address at the end of the video, and I decided to add him to my Hotmail Messenger (I know right, stranger danger!). As he went viral, probably dozens contacted him, but I was one of the lucky ones who did not get blocked… :D But we ended up chatting, becoming friends and if I remember correctly, he was about to help release this #FreeHugs Campaign video with Juan Mann.That video went viral and became a big thing, and thanks to that, nowadays you can see these free hugs things everywhere. If you see someone on the street doing that, it’s because of Juan!I very fondly remember how Ahmed Salama encouraged me to make a video response to that video on YouTube, so I made this cover of The Cardigans Love Fool, calling it “Hugfool”. You can find a link in the comments.It picked up in a way that I didn’t even know was possible, and I think I got 40,000 views in one night, increasing every time I opened my YouTube account. It was crazy and unreal. The video reached 143,000 views. Then I started making videos every day that just picked up tens of thousands and hundreds of thousands of views. Ultimately during that year, I reached 1,5 million. The one million views came a bit later. I’m still picking quite a lot of views with my Ievan Polkka cover where I imitated this leek-spinning GIF that was also spreading on IRC. I've also been told that it's been featured in some American TV shows and once was contacted by a production company who wanted to feature it. Geez, think of the things that can happen when you post something like that.Well, now I'm not so much after views, but what does matter to me is that the stories I tell, get heard by the people who appreciate them, who need them, and who are moved by them.I’ve created music alongside my other endeavors since I was 13, and now I’m 34. I’ve released 3 albums, 1 EP, several singles and features with other bands, and a solo album in English, but now I’m releasing my first Finnish song as a solo artist on March 27th. The best part is that this time I have an awesome little record label supporting me, Karhuvaltio Records and Playground Music Scandinavia AB as the distributor. 🚀 This TikTok got me my first 250 newsletter subscribers in 48 hours.🙋♂️ Without asking people to sign up in the video, why did it work? 🍿 Already part of a film locations series on my movietok profile, I was getting the fans interested by the film info and entertaining style I used.📸 I began integrating screenshots to my unreleased film website into the content.At that point, the site was a waiting list only.Comments asked about the map - leading the TikTok to be pushed to more people.Optimised my profile page to direct viewers to the webpage.Why did the video hit over 1m views?✅ Bit old now, but the video had a hook (interesting building and a title for the video).✅ Ensured there were cuts with the trending track✅ Ensured I kept the point sweet and short✅ Made it as entertaining as possible (with my humour injected in)Did you know this Star Wars fact in the video?
