Fall Soup Recipes

We send soup to school every week (on Wednesday, for some reason) and I love that it’s fall and time for more fall soup recipes. I’m always on the lookout for easy fall soup recipes to beak up the routine and these soups fit the bill.

We pulled a list of all types of soups and chowders. Everything from vegetable soups, to beef stew. These are all winners.

Like Mother Like Daughter – Autumn Soup — I love the name of this soup – it says just what it is: fall flavors in a bowl. It combines traditional fall flavors of butternut squash, pumpkin, apples, and sage. This soup recipe even looks like fall with its golden color.

Five Heart Home – Slow Cooker Split Pea Soup — I love how this split pea soup doesn’t look as green as most versions (I think my kids will eat this one!) And it uses other veggies to make it a more hearty soup. Plus, it’s crock pot friendly which can be such a time saver for busy moms.

Cheesy Potato Soup

Loaded potato soup. This soup is comfort food at it’s best. Creamy and filling, it’s loaded with potatoes and cheddar cheese to make it extra creamy.

Soup Tips

  • Make soups ahead of when you’ll eat them. Most soups stand up well to being reheated.
  • Use a crock pot or Instant Pot to make soup recipes. Here’s our favorite Instant Pot soup recipe
  • Double the recipe and freeze half. We freeze individual servings in small mason jars. They can be taken out the night before to thaw, then just heat up for lunch.

All of these fall soup recipes look absolutely amazing!! Let me know if you make one!

Can You Freeze Soup?

Soup freezes great so it’s a winner when it comes to planning ahead. So, make a double batch of one of these soups and have an easy dinner night, and lunch tomorrow! I make soups on the weekend and separate them into small mason jars with lids. Then I freeze the jars.

During the week, I take out one serving each and place it on the kitchen counter to thaw overnight. The next morning I heat it in the microwave and serve in my children’s lunch boxes.
